T3 - Tomorrow's Technology Today Blockbuster Preview HD Review Digital Camera
T3 magazine  Blockbuster Preview   HD Review  Digital Camera
I was Reviews Ed of this hi-tech gadget title at launch. I still write a monthly column, news, reviews (here, here and here) and features. I was the editor of this customer mag for Blockbuster from its launch and through 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 issues. It was the largest home entertainment title in the UK. I write hardware reviews for this well designed and enthusiastic new title from Imagine. I even did their very last HD-DVD player review... I was Reviews Editor (freelance) for this market-leading and award-winning title for three years, organising freelancers and writing reviews and tips.
Paparazzi feature  Complete issue 5 PDF (14MB)  Canon HF10 review   Sony T30 review

Flipside The Official Windows XP magazine Which? Time Out Paris
Flipside  Official Windows XP   Which?  Time Out Paris
Smart, interesting and fun mag for teens from the IET. I got to ride in a helicopter (sim) for this top features. Enough said. I write reviews for this consumer IT title - from smartphones to biometric webcams. But, I've still never met Bill... Which? sells 700,000+ monthly. I ended as a Senior Researcher, writing for a global audience and managing product tests.  I was Assistant Editor of this one-off guide. I researched, edited and wrote listings and few articles. Not in French, mind.
Best videogame ever   Slingbox review   Low energy bulbs   Peniches on the Seine

SFX Stuff DVD Review Toyota Today Tomorrow
SFX magazine  Stuff DVD Review  Toyota
I reviewed SF and horror books, videos and films for the largest SF mag in Europe. The trashier, the better! Going from strength to strength, Stuff is Which? for blokes. I've done a few product tests for them on RC cars and sports. For the UK's biggest DVD mag, I linked movie piracy to gangsters, pornographers and terrorists. And it's all true. I've had features on speed camera detectors and accident-free cars in Toyota's customer mag, Today Tomorrow.
Book reviews   Target sports feature   Piracy feature   Uncrashable cars

W@Mob Dreamwatch Heyday magazine Insight City News
What Mobile?   Dreamwatch   Heyday   Insight City News
RIP W@Mob, welcome back What Mobile? Cool gadgety stuff with bells on. I write regular tech reviews. I reviewed vids and books for Dreamwatch, the best global SF mag (USA & UK) with more of a TV slant than SFX. Writing about technology for an older audience is a great opportunity to bring some cool innovations a new audience. It's a rag, but it's a LOCAL rag. I loved the Insight but the ICN is a newer, more, er, individual title. I still write the occasional feature.
Fuji F420 review    The Postman review   CES 2008 round-up   Snatch interview

Indie Today In English RRP Good Call
Indie  Today in English  RRP   Good Call
I write seeringly acute features on DVD and VHS for this monthly PC, games and home entertainment trade mag.  Today is for French people learning English. I've done travel features, profiles, reviews & photo reports.  I contribute feature articles and reviews to this exciting video and DVD trade mag. It's in that dinky new A5 fomat. The Carphone Warehouse's customer mag commissioned a refreshingly critical feature on the eco impact of mobile phones.
Movies to games    NY feature   Internet movie piracy   Green mobiles

Computer Arts Boys Toys Focus Edge
Computer Arts Boys Toys Focus  Edge
This influential mag is all about design and digital media. I reviewed cameras and other products. I did a classy feature on hi-fi tech for this lads' mag, including everything from speakers to mini-systems. Popular science has never been so, er, popular. Now owned by the massive BBC Worldwide. I wrote features. Edge is a seminal computer gaming mag for grown-ups. I wrote product reviews for the NuMedia section.

Mobile Choice Asda magazine Digital Video Techniques Starburst
Mobile Choice   Asda magazine  Digital Video Tech  Starburst
I bring my knowledge of electronics to bear on cellphones. Cower before my mighty gadget brain! Over 5 million people read this monthly, making it one of the Top 10 UK mags. I wrote a round-up spread of cameras. A new camcorder magazine from upstart publishers Imagine. I review camcorders each month. Nice design, too. Starburst is anothear neat trans-continental sci-fi, fantasy and horror mag. I've reviewed books for them.
